Deer Lodge was once the Milwaukee Road's main division point in Montana. Major yards, shops, etc. They concentrated their Mountain Division electrics there. Now, it's all gone, except for what you've managed to photograph. Plus, maybe a few foundations here and there. The same thing happened to pretty much all of their structures after they left the coast in 1980. Sad, really.
